11. Institute for Physico-Technical problems and Material Science NAS KR

12. Institute of Seismology of NAS, KR
(http://www.welcome.kg/ru/kyrgyzstan/science/aspoi/ )

At the highly seismic territory, the intensive mining and processing industries have been developed. Unique hydro-technical constructions, recreation zones, large cities have been built; therefore, the problem of seismic security for all objects and population is a very acute issue. In this view, in the 70s, the question on creating the Institute of seismology in Kyrgyzstan was raised. The initiators were V.I. Knauf, V.P.Green and V.G.Korolev. In 1975 on the basis of the seismology department and two laboratories (neo-tectonics and depth tectonics) which were within the Institute of geology of NAS, the Institute of seismology was established. From 1979 seismic stations throughout the whole country to conduct seismic observations according to the joint program, were functional. Major tasks of the institute research have become the study of the Earth’s crust and mantle, earthquakes and reasons for their occurrence, elaboration of methods for seismic division into regions and seismic micro-regions within cities and territories of industrial and hydro-technical constructions as well as methods for making prognosis of strong earthquakes.

13. Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology NAS KR
(http://www.welcome.kg/ru/kyrgyzstan/science/lovcj/ )
The development of chemical sciences has started since 1943 after the creation of the Institute of Chemistry within the Kyrgyz branch of AS of USSR. The chemical sciences were developed mostly on two directions. Non-organic chemistry. There were several researches on studying natural salts of Kirgizia, metals compound with physiologically active organic substances. Topological bases of four-dimensional diagrams (tetrads, hexodes) were developed and some theoretical positions regarding the formation of solid solutions were proposed. The research on sulfates reactions, halogenides and phosphates of transition metals with carbamide, thiocarbamide, methionine and piperazine. The chemical composition of a range of large salina of the republic has been defined, their physical-chemical characteristics have been composed, the genesis has been shown, and rational schemes of the complex processing of saliferous rocks have been proposed. The characteristics of physical-chemical conditions for the formation of glauberid deposits have been given, the enrichment ways and processing of glauberid into the sodium sulfate and gypsum have been recommended (I.Drujinin). Organic chemistry. The characteristics, tautomerism of pyranose cycle of the polymer chain, reaction capacity of the cellulose depending on the environment, molecular-mass weighted distribution (MMR and MVR) and molecular (M) homogeneity. Some new features of the pyranose cycle of the molecular cellulose, the reaction capacity of hydroxyl groups, the hydrogen atoms with carbons depending on the nature of the reaction environment were discovered. The results of the work show that the chemical characteristics of the cellulose molecular define the capacity and environment for the formation of rational supramolecular structures with given features. The usage of new data allowed to find new ways of solving some practical issues: extraction of quite valuable physiological active substances from the local raw materials of Kyrgyzstan, to develop ways to create the molecular-homogenous cellulose, which improve the quality of products; to receive the hydrocellulose cord with the higher thermostability, some new ion-exchange substances and sorbents, to develop the new way to produce the cotton cellulose from the raw material of Kyrgyzstan for te chemical re-processing (V.Ivanov). The using of these data allowed receiving valuable products: drug treatment substances, cation-exchange, selective sorbents, ethers (Z.Sharshenalieva).
